How tutor matching works
**Tutorbridge is a free matching service for families.** We help you find vetted, background-checked tutors for the help you need, then you choose who feels like the best fit.
1) Tell us what you need
It starts with a simple form. Share the subject, the student’s grade level, and your contact details so we can follow up.
That is all we need. Please do not send SSNs, school records, grades, IEP/504 papers, immigration documents, or bank information. We only use the subject and contact details to help match you.
If you are looking for help with K-12 subjects, test prep, ESL/newcomer support, reading, math, or study skills, you can start here: Get matched.
2) We look for tutors who may fit
We use the information you share to connect you with independent tutors who match the subject, level, schedule, and format you want. Some tutors work online, and some work locally.
Tutorbridge is not a tutoring company, school, or learning center. We do not teach lessons, set prices, grade students, or grant credentials. We simply help you find tutors who are available and may be a good fit.
Because tutors are independent, availability and pricing can vary by area and by tutor. We help you compare options before you decide.
3) You review the tutor and choose
You stay in control. Review the tutor’s experience, subject focus, background check, references, and any other details you want to ask about before booking.
For children and teens, please take safety seriously. Confirm the tutor’s background check and qualifications, and supervise sessions involving minors. A parent can stay nearby, meet in a public place, or make sure online sessions are visible and recorded when appropriate.
If you want tips on what to ask, see our guide: How to choose a tutor.
4) You book directly with the tutor
If the tutor feels right, you work out the details with that tutor directly. That may include the schedule, location, online platform, and payment terms.
Tutorbridge does not collect payment from families for tutoring and does not handle tutoring contracts. Our service is free for families, and we are paid a flat marketing/matching fee by participating tutors or providers.
We do not promise any grade, score, school admission, or fluency result. Progress depends on the student, the tutor, the time available, and how consistently the student works.
What to expect after you submit
Most families want a quick, simple process. After you share your request, we try to connect you with relevant tutor options as soon as we can.
If we need more detail, we may ask a few follow-up questions. For example, we may ask about the student’s grade level, learning goals, preferred times, or whether the family wants online or in-person help.
If you are exploring broader options first, you can also browse our programs page to see the kinds of support we help families find.
Your control, your choice
You decide whether to move forward. You can compare tutors, ask questions, and choose the person or provider that feels right for your family.
You are also free to pause, change your mind, or look for a different match later. We are here to make the search easier, not to pressure you into a decision.
If your question is about an IEP, 504 plan, learning disability, or special-education rights, please speak with the school or a qualified specialist. If it is an immigration or visa question, talk with a licensed immigration attorney or accredited representative. Tutoring help is academic support only.
Tell us what help you need, and we connect you with vetted tutors for free so you can choose the one that fits your family.
