Terms of use
Welcome to **Tutorbridge**. These Terms of Use explain how our FREE tutor-matching service works and the limits of what we can promise—especially around outcomes, safety, and responsibility.
1) What Tutorbridge is (and what it isn’t)
Tutorbridge is a free service that helps families and adult students find and connect with vetted, background-checked independent tutors for academic support.
We are not a tutoring company, school, learning center, or licensed education provider. We do not teach lessons, employ tutors, set tutor pricing, grade students, or provide academic credentials.
When you use Tutorbridge, you share your needs so we can help you find a suitable match. Any tutoring you receive happens directly between you (the family/student) and the independent tutor.
If you have questions about the tutoring itself, you’ll need to discuss them with the tutor and your school (as appropriate).
2) Matching, communication, and choosing a tutor
Tutorbridge helps you connect with tutors based on the subject(s) you’re looking for, your location (if relevant), learning goals, and the contact details you provide.
We may facilitate initial contact, but we do not control the scheduling, teaching methods, materials, or the availability of individual tutors.
You are responsible for reviewing a tutor’s qualifications, approach, rates, and expectations. For child safety, we strongly encourage parents/guardians to confirm the tutor’s background check and references and to supervise sessions involving minors, especially in a public place or with a parent nearby.
We encourage you to keep communication clear and to agree on logistics directly with the tutor before starting.
3) No guarantees of outcomes (grades, scores, or admissions)
Tutorbridge does not and cannot guarantee academic results. Tutoring outcomes depend on many factors, including the student’s effort, the tutor’s methods, the fit between tutor and student, and the specific learning situation.
We do not promise or imply guaranteed improvements in grades, test scores, English fluency, school placement, or admission outcomes.
If you are seeking help for a learning disability, IEP/504, or special-education rights, Tutorbridge is not a substitute for services provided by your school or a qualified specialist.
For questions about immigration or visas, Tutorbridge is not legal advice and cannot provide immigration/visa guidance.
4) Fees and how Tutorbridge is funded
Tutorbridge is free for families and adult students.
We are funded through a flat marketing/matching fee from participating tutors/providers. This does not change what you may be charged by a tutor, and Tutorbridge does not charge you for the matching service.
Tutoring costs, if any, are determined by the independent tutor. Always confirm the tutor’s rate and payment terms directly with the tutor before you begin.
If a payment or billing issue comes up, it will need to be handled between you and the tutor.
5) Privacy, data handling, and what we collect
To match you with a tutor, Tutorbridge collects the subject(s) you need help with and your contact details.
We do not request sensitive identity documents such as SSNs, and we do not ask for student ID numbers, school records, grades, IEP/504 documents, immigration documents, or bank/financial account numbers.
Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how information is collected, used, and protected.
If you ever see a request for sensitive information that doesn’t match our stated purpose, do not provide it and contact us through Contact Us.
6) Safety and appropriate supervision for minors
Because tutoring can involve minors, child safety matters.
Tutorbridge encourages parents/guardians to confirm the tutor’s background check and references, and to supervise sessions involving minors. For online sessions, consider using a visible/recorded meeting approach if appropriate and lawful in your area, or ensure a parent/guardian is nearby.
You should also agree with the tutor on a safe meeting location (if in-person), communication expectations, and how emergencies or changes are handled.
Tutorbridge is not responsible for the independent tutor’s actions during tutoring. Your safety decisions and supervision matter.
7) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tutorbridge is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses related to tutoring services provided by independent tutors.
We do not guarantee tutor availability, responsiveness, or continued participation. We also do not guarantee the quality of tutoring or the outcome of any tutoring arrangement.
If there is an issue with tutoring, scheduling, or professionalism, you should address it directly with the tutor.
For more detail on our responsibilities and limits, please review the Disclaimer and our policies as applicable.
8) Use of the website and acceptable conduct
When you use Tutorbridge, you agree to provide accurate information and to use the service responsibly.
You may not misuse the site, attempt to access private systems, or share content that is unlawful, harmful, or misleading.
You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your use of the service.
If Tutorbridge learns that you provided false information or used the service in a harmful or unlawful way, we may limit or stop access.
9) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes to our service or legal requirements.
When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page.
Your continued use of Tutorbridge after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the service.
10) Contact and questions
If you have questions about these Terms of Use, or if you need help using the service, please reach out via Contact Us.
For privacy questions, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
For limitations and general information, please review the Disclaimer.
We will do our best to respond, but we cannot provide legal or medical advice.
Tutorbridge is a free tutor-matching service—not a school—and we can’t promise tutoring results; families choose and supervise tutors directly while sharing only limited contact and subject information.
